You'll never plough a field by turning it over in your mind.
It's Sunday, March 12, and as we head into St. Patty's Day celebrations, I thought I'd share a little Irish Proverb to remind everyone that there are just 3 more weeks left until the most important election of 2023 for Wisconsin and America--the election that will change the balance of Wisconsin's Supreme Court and give us our democracy back.
I'm going to keep my email short today, because there's nothing left to say other than NOW IS THE TIME for everyone to who cares about Wisconsin's Democracy and its ability to withstand the inevitable lawsuits and trickery that will attempt to undermine the results of the 2024 presidential election in our pivotal swing state to GET INVOLVED.
Donating money is wonderful, but every important Wisconsin election is a grudge match separated by tens of thousands of votes out of ~5 million people. It's the organizing, canvassing, letter writing, and phone banking that's being done NOW that will determine who wins this election.
One of the most important places to organize is in Milwaukee, which had a poor progressive showing last November that enabled insurrectionist Senator Ron Johnson to beat progressive candidate Mandela Barnes.
We can't let that happen again, so we've partnered with Citizens Action of Wisconsin to recruit volunteers to help "Get Out The Vote" for Janet Protasiewicz in Milwaukee this coming Tuesday from 7-10pm at the Drunken Cobra, a progressive bar in Milwaukee County. Click here to get your ticket for free beer, food, live music, and an opportunity to meet with the organizers at Citizens Action of Wisconsin to figure out how you can best help the effort.
If you know anyone who lives in Southeastern Wisconsin, please forward this email to them so they know how to get involved.
If you can't make this party or don't live close to Milwaukee, there are plenty of other ways to plug in. Here's the link to connect to all of the Wisconsin Democratic Party volunteer opportunities around the state.
Here's a link to volunteer directly with Janet Protasiewicz's campaign.
Here's a link to get plug into the events happening with Citizen Action of Wisconsin.
Here's a link to join former U.S. Senate Candidate Sarah Godlewski and a large coalition of women's organizations in a series of rallies across the state "Rally for Our Rights."
And make sure you tune into the Minocqua Brewing Company's Up North Podcast this Wednesday when we talk with Sarah Godlewski and Citizen Action of Wisconsin about all these events being held to help get the vote out for Janet.
While I just wrote that now is the time to roll up our sleeves and volunteer to help, I did want to show you what we've done with all of your donations.
We've now got 6 billboards up in Wausau, La Crosse, Richland Center, Appleton, Menomonie, and Superior that remind voters that the only person running who will stop gerrymandering in our state is is Janet Protasiewicz.
Prior to putting up these billboards, we put up billboards in 7 more progressive cities before the February 21primary to help introduce Janet to democrats.
This means that since January, we've put up 13 billboards in almost every major city in Wisconsin. YOU HELPED GET THIS DONE, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for chipping in.
That's all I've got for this week, friends.
I look forward to seeing many of you next Tuesday in Milwaukee County, and next Wednesday on the podcast. We can pour one out together on Tuesday or do a virtual "Sláinte" on Wednesday to "Making Wisconsin Great Again, One Beer At A Time."
